Discovering the Value of Window Treatments

Motorized Shades, Motorized Draperies, and Manual Window Coverings

Window treatments such as motorized shades, motorized draperies, and even manual window coverings are essential elements of any homeowner’s experience.

In rooms that host numerous windows and/or large openings, it can become very tedious to manually open and close each shade every day. This often leads to homeowners leaving windows untreated or keeping shades left open throughout the day and night. Not only is privacy lost this way, but leaving windows untreated can cause energy inefficiencies in cases where sunlight is affecting the temperature of the interior space.

Solutions for All Environments

To combat these inconveniences and inefficiencies, motorized shades,
draperies and window coverings provide the ability to regulate single rooms, multiple rooms, or whole home window treatments all at the touch of a button, hands-free voice assistant, or automated programming. Not only do motorized shades enhance the aesthetic of a space, but they also offer convenient privacy control, temperature regulation, daylight regulation, and whole-home energy efficiency.

Through our partnerships with companies such as Lutron and Screen Innovations, we are able to offer an extensive library of products, fabrics, and solutions to help you integrate the perfect shade which matches your lifestyle, preferences, and needs for your home.

● Motorization is ideal for hard to reach windows, such as those that are high or behind furniture.

● With motorization, convenience and ease is at your disposal. With just a click of a button or spoken sentence to your hands-free voice assistant, you can instantly open or close window shades in any room.

● Motorization is ideal for multimedia rooms, offices, or anywhere else in the house where you need glare control.

● Saves you time and energy. You can control all the blinds in the house simultaneously. No need to close each and every one on its own.

● Shades can be timed to open and close at certain times to enhance security when you are not around. Leaving an impression from the exterior that the house is occupied.

● Ideal protection for your furniture. Motorized shades have a sun sensor that automatically closes the blinds to protect your furniture from damage by UV radiation.

● Motorization enhances energy efficiency by using pre-configured programming to automatically adjust shades based on personal usage, light levels, and/or temperature control.

● Safe for your children and pets. Shades do not have any dangling cords.

Lutron drapery track systems electronically operate pinch pleat or ripplefold draperies to elegantly provide quiet, convenient control of daylight. Simple controls and smooth transitions transform any room into a pleasing, inviting space.

Combine this elegant feature with lighting and other environmental integrations, and your space can be truly customized to your lifestyle, your aesthetics, and your patterns.

The most common of treatments, manual shades, can be great for spaces with minimal and small window openings that are easily accessible and not used often.

Innovative offers a variety of manual shades from Lutron and Hunter Douglas.

Control4 provides an easy way to control your motorized shades and draperies.

By integrating with all the other environmental technology devices in your home, Control4 gives you complete control over every aspect of your home and allows your window treatments to be automated and operated as needed in the moment.

Smart “scenes” are customized to your liking to respond with a predetermined series of events that happen simultaneously. Perhaps you want a “Movie” scene that will start your favorite playlist and bring your lights up to full illumination and send your motorized shades down, or a “Good morning” scene that will raise the shades in your whole home or certain rooms, set a desired temperature, and cue up your morning playlist.

Complete control of your home is always just a button press away.

Voice Control has become a staple of everyday life. But the depth of that integration has been lacking…until now.

Innovative uses Josh.AI connects you with all the smart devices in your home. Using your voice, Josh can turn on and off your lights, change the temperature, play music, and more, whether you’re home or away. Josh is built to understand natural language and learn from you as time goes on.

Josh is also big on privacy and will never use client information for marketing purposes or sell user data to third parties. Unlike the mass-market voice assistants, Josh’s sole focus is on providing the best smart home experience possible.

Everything you need to know about upgrading your recessed
downlighting to high-performance LED

Today’s leading builders and customers are all moving in one direction: towards adopting LED lighting. It’s more energy efficient and easier to maintain than conventional lighting and renders color more accurately than before. And retrofitting LED lamps into existing fixtures is the fastest, most economical path.

If you’re looking to upgrade your recessed lights, here’s everything you need to know.

What is retrofit?

Why should I consider retrofitting my downlights?

Upgrading to LEDs not only provides highly accurate color rendering and a greater spectrum of color temperatures, it does so for less. LED technology is more energy efficient and lasts longer than traditional lamp sources like incandescent and compact fluorescent. The reduction in energy costs and maintenance can save as much as $942* over the lifetime of the LED.

Also, additional savings come from the retrofit process. Without the need for new fixtures and skilled labor, retrofitting allows you to improve your lights without remodeling the space.

Advantages of Low Voltage Lighting Throughout Your Home

Low voltage lighting is all the hype right now is the world of lighting. But why is this so? What is so special about low voltage lighting that regular voltage line cannot achieve? Low voltage lighting is highly advantageous as compared to regular lighting for your interiors and outdoors. Low voltage lighting was first created for outdoor use but due to the benefits it has found its way into the house. Here are some advantages of low voltage lighting.

Safety – low voltage lighting is safer than regular voltage lighting. The power to the lights is given by a transformer which reduces the voltage from 120V or 240V to only 12V DC. This reduces the chances of getting dangerously electrocuted with low voltage lighting. Whether you are using the systems indoors or outdoors, low voltage lighting is safer.

Better light quality – using low voltage lighting gives brighter or crispier white light. With low voltage lighting you can use a wide range of lenses for the desired beams. You therefore have more control over the quality of light you are receiving from the beam. Plus, you can also get very many variations of lighting from the different lenses and bulbs available.

Versatility – low voltage lighting is highly versatile. The bulbs for low voltage lighting are usually small and therefore the fixtures are smaller too. This means you can install low voltage lights in places where you cannot be able to install other fixtures. They can be fixed in tight spaces like behind furniture and where space is limited.

Easy to install – low voltage lighting for outdoor and indoor spaces is easy to install. Since they are low voltage, cabling doesn’t have to be buried deep in the ground. A wire is attached to the transformer to power the lights and then cabling is laid as desired. There is also minimum damage to your property during installation. The outdoor fixtures can also be moved easily as your landscaping plants mature to put them at the desired level.

Minimum heat – incandescent and fluorescent lights contribute heat which can eventually increase the energy bills especially during the hot seasons. Low voltage lights on the other hand have minimal to negligible heat contribution.

Long lasting – LED bulbs last way longer than incandescent and halogen bulbs used in main voltage lighting. You will therefore not incur many expenses when it comes to bulb replacements with low voltage lighting.

Energy efficiency – low voltage systems are energy efficient which in turn means more savings on energy bills for you. Low voltage systems use less power than high voltage systems. Also, the power savings can be enhanced by using dimmers to control lighting.

Conservation of the environment is an important discussion during this time and age. There is increased need for everyone to play their part in conserving the environment so that future generations will enjoy what we are enjoying today. You can make your own little effort to environment conservation by using low voltage lighting in your home. It is time to make a change.
